LAWRENCEBURG.
The county seat of Dearborn county, situated at the junction of the
Indianapolis, Cincinnati & Lafayette with the Ohio & Mississippi railroad, and
on the Ohio river, twenty-one miles below Cincinnati. It is situated in one of
the finest agricultural regions of the State, and now has several fine
manufacturing establishments, among the more important are a large furniture
factory, a large woolen factory, &c. The place has not increased with any great
rapidity until within the last year or two, owing to inundation; but this
difficulty is in a measure being obviated by leveeing. It has some fine
buildings, good churches, and a fine system of graded schools. 
It now has a population of about 5,000.
