She was married to Richard Block, Dec. 10, 1865, and since that time has lived in the vicinity of Aurora, where she died Oct. 24, 1888, being in her fourty-third year. She professed her faith in Christ and united with the First Baptist Church of Aurora, about 1862, under the administration of Rev. J. Cell. Her Christian life has been quiet but worthy. She leaves a husband and nine children, with many friends to mourn her absence. She was taken away from her family when she could least be spared, several of her children being small and dependent upon the maternal love. The ways of the divine providence are mysterious and we must reserve our opinion until we shall know further of the divine plan. Mrs. Block was a true and devoted wife, a kind and indulgent mother, a good obliging neighbor, a consistent member of the church. Mr. Block and his family will have the sympathy of the citizens of this community. After the funeral services conducted by her Pastor in the lecture room of the Baptist Church, in the audience of relatives and sympathizing friend, her remains were interred in the Riverview Cemetery.
