JARVIS.
A flourishing town in DeKalb county on the Michigan Southern & Northern Indiana
railroad. It is in the midst of a rich and well cultivated country, it has an
air oft thrift and enterprise, that speaks well for the place. It has two
churches, good graded schools, a large stave factory, a flouring mill, two saw
mills, one carding mill, two hotels, and the usual representation of the
different trades and professions. 
It has a population of about 800.
