All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarch.org/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarch.org/in/infiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Beverly Telf beverlyjo@aol.com May 6, 2008, 6:10 am Muncie Press, July 18, 1922 FALL FROM TREE PROVES FATAL TO FORMER MUNCIE MAN; DIES IN HSOPITAL Ora Applegate, 42, of Indianapolis, formerly of Muncie died at 4:20 o'clock Monday afternoon at the St. Vincent hospital in Indianapolis as a result of injuries suffered three weeks ago Monday when he fell fifty feet from a tree. He was taken to the hospital immediately after the accident and underwent an operation last Friday. The body will be brought to Muncie arriving here at 7 o'clock Tuesday evening and will be taken to the home of his sister, Mrs. Stella Harter, at 906 South Jefferson street. Funeral arrangements will be announced later. Mr. Applegate was formean of the lanscape gardeners for Morgan and Rhue of Indianapolis and fell from a tree on North Forty-sixth street while engaged in his work. He was a member of the Moose lodge at Indianapolis, where he had lived several years. He is survived by the widow, Maude Applegate; the parents, Mr. and Mrs. Riley Applegate of Muncie; two brothers. Brant, of Indianapolis and Chester, of Muncie; and one sister, Mrs. Harter.
