ISAAC McCONNEL WAS BORN IN MUNCIE AND  SPENT LONG LIFE HERE
Isaac McConnell, 79, died at 1 o’clock Tuesday morning at his home, 1327 West 
Fourteenth street, after an extended illness.  He was born in Muncie and 
always had made his home here.  He was a veteran of the Civil War, having 
enlisted in 1861 with Company G, 9th Indiana Calvary.  He also served with 
Company E, 18th Indiana Infantry.  He was a member of Williams Post No. 78, 
G.A.R.     He is survived by the widow, Nancy McConnell; one son, William, of 
Muncie; one daughter, Mrs. Rhoda Yamato, of Madison, Wis.; and fourteen 
grandchildren.  Funeral services will be held at 10 oclock Wednesday morning 
at the Fifteenth Street Christian Church with Reverend Lewis Murphy in 
charge.  Burial will take place at Beech Grove cemetery.
