OLD SOLDIER IS DEAD
George W. thomas, 79, a veteran of the civil war died at his home, 1517 West 
Fifteenth street early Tuesday morning of senility and heart trouble.  During 
the civil war he was a private in the 147th Regiment Ohio National Guard.  He 
is survived by a widow and family.  Death came after a very short illness, as 
he was not considered in a serious condition until to late to summon a 
physician.  The funeral will be conducted at the residence at 2 o'clock 
Wednesday afternoon.  Rev. Brown will officiate.  Burial will be made in the 
Old Soldiers' lot in Beech Grove cemetery.
