DEATH OF BENONA THOMAS
bought Cemetery Lot Fifty Years ago Anticipating His End
Buying a lot in Beech Grove cemetery in Muncie in 1856 in expectation of 
death, Benona Thomas, 70, of Granville, realized his fears by passing away 
yesterday after a lapse of half a century from the date of buying the lot.  He 
was a veteran of the civil war and was well known.  He had been feeble-minded 
for the last few years of his life and the veterans have been taking care of 
him.  He is survived by a wife and brother.  The funeral will be held Saturday 
afternoon at 1:30 o'clock from the Granville church by the Rev. Mr. Powers.
