She had been in ill health since last September but had been confined to her bed only for the past four weeks. Mrs. Alwine was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Tobias Cripe, and was born in Elkhart county, where she lived all her life. She was a member of the First Brethren church and of the Royal Neighbors. Surviving are her husband, her mother, Mrs. Barbara Cripe; two sons, Lloyd and Melvin of Goshen; two daughters, Mrs. George Coyle and Mrs. Merle Casey, of Goshen, five grandchildren, six brothers, Samuel, Simon, Jesse, and Jacob Cripe, of Chicago; and Henry and Elijah Cripe, of Goshen; and two sisters, Mrs. John Cripe of Nappanee; and Mrs. George Weaver, of Elkhart. Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon. Friends will meet at the home at one o'clock and services will be held at two o'clock at the First Brethren church, corner Clinton and Second streets. The rev. George W. Rench will officiate and interment will be made in Oak Ridge cemetery.
