Mr. Hepler was born near Nappanee about 58 years ago, and while engaged in farming much of the time, he spent several years in business at Atwood, Kosciusko Co. Some years ago he moved to one of the western state thinking to benefit his health, but found the climate did not agree with him and returned to Indiana. He again tried farming but found the work to hard for his weakened condition, and was compelled to give it up. He then left the farm and moved to Milford, at which place he remained until death. The funeral was conducted Tuesday at 10 o'clock from the Stony Point church southwest of Nappanee by Rev. Groves of Milford. Their were special persons among his friends whom he always remembered in his prayers and continued praying for them until the end. He was a lover of spiritual music and only a few days before he died requested his daughter to go to the piano and play his favorite selections, and though weary at times, but it was her father's request and she continued to play.
