Hepler, aged 77, died at 10 o'clock Sunday evening in the home of his daughter, Mrs. Daniel Austin, of Penn township, following a year's illness. Mr. Hepler, who was born Aug. 11, 1856, in Pennsylvania, came to South Bend 35 years ago and had resided in Mishawaka for the last 10 years. He was married to Miss Rebecca Tedrow in 1875. She died 10 years later. In 1886 he married Miss Elizabeth Weaver, who died in 1924. Mr. Hepler is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Austin, in whose home he died; a son, William E. Hepler, of rural route No 2, and two sisters, Mrs. Sarah Green, of Bremen, Ind. and Mrs. Susan Shirk of Pennsylvania. He also leaves two grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. The body may be viewed in the Sprague mortuary until 4 o'clock Wednesday, at which time the funeral services will be held in the Sprague chapel. Rev. G. B. Rowe, pastor, of the Mid-Way Tabernacle, will officiate. Burial will be in Bowman cemetery, South Bend.
