All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/in/infiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Beverly T beverlyjo@aol.com December 10, 2010, 8:19 am Nappanee Advance-News 4 Dec 1947 BROTHER OF NAPPANEE MAN DIES WHILE AT WORK LAST FRIDAY MORNING Ira Himbaugh, aged 68, rural route 5, Goshen, dropped dead in front of the county highway truck from which he had been unloading gravel on the Huntington road southeast of New Paris, Ind., about 9:15 a.m. Friday, the victim of a heart attack. He had been employed by the county highway department for the last five years and for 17 years previous had been employed by the Elkhart Ice Cream company. He was born May 18, 1879 in Concord township, Elkhart county, near Sugar Grove. His present wife, to whom he ws married july 25, 1942, was Lillian Fox. He was previously married to Minnie Simmons in 1903 and she died July 18, 1931. He is survived by his widow; a daughter, Mrs. Mary Cripe, Elkhart, a grandchild, and a brother, John Himebaugh of Nappanee. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday in the Culp funeral home at Goshen, with Rev. Russell B. Kern of the Trinity Methodist church in Elkhart and Rev. M. D. Stutzman of Goshen officiating.
