She had been an invalid since she broke her hip in a fall two years ago last February. The body will be returned from the Wise funeral home to the residence at 9 a.m. Saturday. There is to be a short service at the home at 2 p.m. Saturday and another service at 2:30 in the Bristol Episcopal church, of which Mrs. Hughes was a member. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The Rev. Virgil Pierce Stewart of Elkhart will officiate. The only surviving relatives are the following nephews and nieces: Harry Sanger of Bristol, Frank Menehall of Moorepark, Mich., Mrs. Alice Spreuer of Howe, Ind., and Mrs. Hollis Wakefield of Cadillac, Mich. The daughter of Henry W. and Alphea (Wheeler) Gould, Mrs. Hughes was born Dec 17, 1859. Her husband, Dr. James W. Hughes, died here in 1912. Mrs. Hughes was a member of the Bristol chapter of the Order of Eastern Star.
