Death was due to heart ailment, after anillness of three weeks. Surviving are his mother, Mrs. Mahala Lutes of Wakelee, who now is a patient in Epworth hospital, South Bend; his widow, Mabel Lutes; a brother, Clyde Lutes, Cassopolis agent for the Grand Trunk railway, and two sisters, Mrs. Henry Milhom of Penn township and Mrs. Sadie Freech of South Bend. When the deceased was a youth of 17 he was taught the telegrapher's trade at Wakelee, and he soon left to take such employment with other roads.
