I. NUSBAUM and Simon GRINER called - Both Well Known - Death called two residents of this vicinity Saturday when Newton I NUSBAUM, for a number of years a patient sufferer from tuberculosis, and Simon GRINER, answered the last summons. Newton Isaac NUSBAUM was the son of Mr and Mrs John NUSBAUM and was born 10 Oct 1880, on the old homestead southeast of Middlebury. He had lived in this community all his life. About 13 years ago he united with the Griner Lutheran Church. 10 Jun 1903 he united in marriage to Miss Lula PENCE. To this union were born five children of whom four, Chester, Ralph, Mable and William, together with their mother, survive. Two brothers, Frank of south of town and Daniel of Vistula and one sister, Mrs. John BEACHY; four half brothers, John of Oscodo MI; David of Jackson, Minn; Lee of Storm Lake Iowa and J F of this place; and three half sisters, Mrs. Henry SNYDER of Jackson, Minn, and Mrs Frank GARDNER and Mrs. J C HERSHBERGER of Middlebury. He was superintendent of Griner Sunday School for a number of years and at the time of his death was a member of the church council. Burial in Forest Grove Cemetery.
