David W. "Bill" Searfoss, 66, died July 9, 2007 following a brief but valiant 
battle with cancer. Born in Elkhart, In.,February 7, 1941. He graduated from 
St. Joseph High School in South Bend, In., served three tours in Vietnam with 
the U. S. Army as a Special forces Sergeant in the Green Berets. Sgt. Searfoss 
was awarded three Purple Hearts, Bronze Star, Army Distinguished Service, Army 
Achievement, Army Commendation, Marksman, Expert, National Defense Service and 
Vietnam Service military medals. Bill worked 30 years as a college recruiter. 
The past 12 years He worked for Universal Technical Institute, a top performer 
and member of the President's Club. Member American Legion, Veterans of Foreign 
Wars, Disabled American Veterans, Knights of Columbus Council 11138 and St. 
Mary's Catholic Church, Lutz, Fl. Survivors: Wife, Annette, Tampa; Stepson, 
Michael Barbone, Tampa; Stepdaughter, Michelle Barbone of Lutz, Fl; Son, David, 
Daughter, Jennifer Moore and Grandson, Nicholas of Ohio; Mother, Rose Sunday; 
Brothers, George Searfoss and James Searfoss of Indiana; Sister, Carolyn (Bill) 
Jayo of California. Preceded in death by His Father, Harold Searfoss and 
Brothers, Ted and Tom Searfoss.  Family will receive friends 4-8 p.m. Friday, 
July 13, 2007 at Blount & Curry Funeral Home, 3207 W. Bearss Ave., Tampa, Fl. 
33618. Funeral service 10 a. m. Saturday, July 14, 2007 at St. Mary Catholic 
Church, 15520 N. Boulevard, Lutz, Fl. 33613, celebrated by Pastor Thomas 
Madden. Interment will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery, Tampa. Donations 
may be made to Knights of Columbus, P. O. Box 82013, Tampa, Fl. 33682 or
