Death was caused by organic heart trouble after a severe illness which developed last December. A short service will be held at the Canaan Baptist church of which Mrs. Stamper was a member, at 6 p.m. Sunday, the Rev. J. G. Sebree officiating. From the church the body will be taken to the N.Y.C. station and will be forwarded to Knoxville, Tenn., where a final service will be held and where interment will take place. The Rev. Mr. Sebree will accompany relatives to Knoxville and will conduct the service at that place. Mrs. Stamper, who was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Copeland, was born in Knoxville, on Feb. 11, 1890. Three years ago she and Mr. Stamper came to Elkhart. In addition to her church membership Mrs. Stamper was a member of the Household of Ruth of Knoxville and was recording secretary of the colored Woman's Christian Temperance Union of Elkhart.
