S. Troup, 80, sister of J. W. Whitehead of Elkhart, died at 9 p.m. Sunday at her home five miles northeast of Warsaw. She had lived in that vicinity 49 years. Her husband died 13 years ago. Mrs. Troup was the daughter of Lewis and Rebecca Whitehead, and was born in Elkhart county on July 23, 1850. Of 12 children born to her parents, only two survive. They are the Elkhart brother, and L. M. Whitehead of Jerome, Idaho. Mrs. Troup is survived by the following children: Miss Minnie Troup, at the maternal home, Mrs. J. W. Thomas and E. L. Troup of Leesburg, Mrs. Ira Long and Mrs. william Shock of near Warsaw and L. M. Troup of Lincoln, Neb. There are seven grandchildren and a great-granddaughter. Funeral services will be held at the home at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, with burial at the Whitehead cemetery west of New Paris.
