Troup died Wednesday morning from urenic poisoning after a long illness, at his home in South West where he moved last spring. He was the son of John and Elizabeth Troup, born March 15, 1857, in Canada. March 4, 1888, he was married to Lydia Boyer, who with a foster daughter, Mrs. Ezra Ebersole, survive him. Funeral services will be held at the home Friday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock and from the Yellow Creek Mennonite church at 2:30 conducted by Rev. D. A. Yoder and R. J. W. Christophel. Elkhart Truth, 18 Sep 1935: Samuel J. Troup of Southwest, four miles east of Wakarusa, died this morning at his home from uremic poisoning. Mr. Troup had been ill for nearly a year, and the last six weeks had been blind. He was the son of John H. and Elizabeth Troup and was born Nov 15, 1857. March 4, 1888, he married Lydia Boyer, who survives. A foster daughter, Mrs. Ezra Ebersole, who lives in the same house, also survives. Most of his married life Mr. Troup had lived on a farm, 2 1/2 miles each of Wakarusa. This spring the Troups purchased the present home, at Southwest. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. (dst) Friday at the home and at 2:30 p.m. at the Yellow Creek Mennonite church, of which he was a member. The Rev. D. A. Yoder and the Rev. J. W. Christophel will officiate. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery.
