CONNERSVILLE.
The county seat of Fayette county, situated at the 'junction of the White Water
Valley and the Indianapolis & Cincinnati Junction Railroads. It is a very
thriving town of about 3,000 inhabitants, and bids fair to become of
considerable importance. The town is well laid out—the buildings .generally
substantial, and the business houses compact, and not scattered about as is the
fault in most small cities. The county is one of the richest in the State—the
farmers being, as a general rule, well off. The town contains seven churches and
one fine large graded school, also two newspapers, three hotels, a woolen
factory, one saw and two flouring mills, and the usual number of merchants,
professional men, mechanics, &c.
