Elizabeth McClain, widow of the late James McLane, died at 6;40 o'clock this 
morning at St.Edwards hospital after a few days illness of pneumonia.Her home 
was at East 5th and Water st and she was taken to the hospital several days 
ago although her condition at the time was so serious that death was not 
unexpected. She was seventy -nine years old and was born in Clarke county 
where she spent her entire life. She leaves two sons, William and James 
McClain , of this city, and one daughter, Mrs Mary Eichhorn, of Philadelphia. 
She was a memeber of the G.A.R., her husband had been a veteran of the Mexican 
and Civil Wars.The remains were taken to the residence of William Arnold 34 
East 5th St, and the burial will take place tomorrow morning at 9 o'clock from 
St. Mary's Catholic Church.

Additional Comments:
Her husband was Colonel James B McClane who died in 1881 in Indiana.
