W. Beckwith (1881) Nelson Crane, farmer, Snoddy's Mills, was born in Warren county, Ohio, April 2, 1811, and is the son of Moses and Susanah Crane. Mr. Crane was raised a farmer, and has followed that occupation all his life. In 1835 he came to Fountain county, where he has resided on one farm for thirty-seven years. In 1833 he married Miss Sarah Meloy, a native of Warren county, Ohio, who was born September 5, 1814. They had one child, Martha, born January 2, 1834, and died the same year. Mr. and Mrs. Crane are devoted members of the Christian church, and Mr. Crane is a republican.
