W. Beckwith (1881) Samuel Paugh, farmer, Covington, was born in Butler county, Ohio, April 15, 1813. His parents both died when he was a small boy, after which he went to live with his grandfather until twenty-one years of age. In 1840 he came to Fountain county, Indiana, and began a business life for himself. He bought 160 acres in the woods, which he has improved and added to till he is the owner of 375 acres of as fine land as Fountain county affords. In 1843 he married Miss Rebecca Van Dorn, daughter of Hezekiah Van Dorn. The issue of this marriage are Ross, Adaline, and Estella.
