W. Beckwith (1881) T. W. Rinn, grocer, Covington, is a native of county Kerry, Ireland, where he was born April 8, 1843. When he was three years old he was brought, by his parents, to the United States. They first located in New York for a time, and then removed to Ohio, and from that state to Indiana. Mr. Rinn received his education at Attica, and at Earlham College, of Richmond, Indiana. In 1867 and 1868 he was in the west, principally in Montana, Nevada, Utah, California and Wyoming. In the latter territory he had a contract with the Union Pacific railroad to furnish ties. He returned from the west and located in Attica, where he spent about one year clerking, and in 1869 he left that town and became a resident of Covington, and engaged in merchandising. In 1878 he was the democratic candidate for treasurer of Fountain county, but was defeated. The same party have again made him their candidate for county sheriff, but this contest, at present writing, is yet undecided.
