DOUGLASS, 68, a retired C & EI Railroad fireman, died unexpectedly of a heart attack about 7 a.m. Thursday (May 8, 1952) at his home, 3 Cronkhite St. He had been in ill health about five years. The body is at the Johnson Funeral Home where it will remain for services at 2 p.m. Saturday. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park. Mr. Douglass was born Sept. 30, 1883 in New Market, Ind., the son of Henry and Alice LaBaw Douglass. He was employed by the C & EI for 34 years and was a member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Firemen and Enginemen. He attended the Assembly Of God Church. Survivors include the wife, Mabel; three daughters, Mrs. Alice McCormick of Danville (IL.), Mrs. Fern Fisher of Rantoul (IL.), and Mrs. Dorothy (Clore)Groves of Indianapolis (IN.); a son, Walter L. Douglass of Montezuma (IN.); 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a brother, Everett Douglass of Covington (IN.), and a half-brother, Elmer French of Mace, Ind. One son preceded him in death. 6:22 a.m., rescue squad of Central Fire Station to 3 Cronkhite St., Walter Douglas, 68, fatal heart condition." "WALTER M.
