Saturday, November 20, 1880

A Mr. [John V.] EWING, an old gentleman living in Henry township, died very 
suddenly on Wednesday. He had been in ill health for some time but on the day 
of his death he was able to walk out in the yard and superintend some work 
that was being done. Returning to the house he sat down in a rocking chair and 
in a few minutes was a corpse. Apoplexy is supposed to be the cause of his 
sudden taking off. [John V. EWING, died Nov. 16, 1880, age 69y-11m-25d; bur 
Hoover cem, Henry twp]
