McCarter Warren Giles McCARTER, 70, of 240 Ardennes St., Mishawaka, died at 2:55 a.m. today at St. Joseph Hospital, Mishawaka. He was born June 31, 1920 [sic] in Macy to Alva and Doris PALMER McCARTER. He moved to Mishawaka in 1949 from Logansport. On March 14, 1942 in Peru he married Jacqueline M. MURRAY, who survives. He was a retired mechanic from Preston Trucking Company, South Bend. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, the Avalon Grotto, the South Bend Commandery, the First Christian Church of Mishawaka and was a life member of the VFW. He was an Air Force veteran of World War II. Surviving with his wife are two daughters, Linda D. ZULTANSKI, South Bend, and Pamela J. BADBY, Portage; three grandchildren; a sister, Ellen BARTLETT, Macy, and a brother, Charles [McCARTER], Zionsville. Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Guisinger Colonial Chapel, 3718 S. Michigan St., South Bend, with Dr. Traverce HARRISON officiating. Burial will be in the St. Joseph Memorial Park, Granger. Friends may call from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Sunday, where a Masonic memorial service will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Shrine Hospital for Crippled Children, 211 N. Oak Park Ave., Chicago, IL 60635.
