Helen L. Norris

                Helen L. NORRIS, 84, formerly of South Whitley, died Saturday 
evening at Life Care Center, where she had been a patient for three days.

                She was born Oct. 9, 1906 in Wabash County to Dayton and May 
PRICE WARNER.  She was reared in North Manchester and the Laketon area and 
graduated from Chester High School.  In 1925 she married Wilbur J. NORRIS and 
they made their home in Columbus, Ohio for four years, in Marion for four 
years and in Chicago for sixteen years.  While a resident of Chicago, Mrs. 
Norris worked for Sears Roebuck & Co. for fifteen years as a cashier and 
supervisor in the mail order department.  Then they moved to Seymour, Ind., 
where Mr. Norris served as a pastor.  In 1956 they moved to a farm near South 
Whitley.  Rev. Norris died in 1982.  Mrs. Norris moved from South Whitley to 
Rochester in November.  She was a member of the South Whitley Church of the 
Brethren.

                Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Don (Anna May) KINSEL, 
Rochester, and Mrs. Jim (Wilma Jane) GEBERT, Pierceton; five grandchildren; 
four great-grandchildren, and a brother, Dean WARNER, Florida.

                Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Smith and Sons 
Miller Chapel, 208 North Maple St., South Whitley, with Pastor Allen R. KAHLER 
and the Rev. Samuel WRIGHT officiating.  Burial will be in the Pleasant Hil 
Cemetery, west of North Manchester.  Friends may call from 2-9 p.m. Tuesday.  
Memorials may be made to the South Whitley Church of the Brethren.
