Alene Rager

                Alene RAGER, 80, of 401 Jefferson St., Silver Lake, died at 
10:54 p.m. Wednesday at Woodlawn Hospital following a lengthy illness.

                She was born Aut. 22, 1910 to Roscoe and Minona RHODES SELF.  
On Aug. 16, 1947 she married Eldon RAGER, who died June 14, 1982.  She was 
retired as manager of the former Strayer Insurance Company, Warsaw, after 45 
years.  She was a 1928 graduate of Silver Lake High School and had attended 
International Business College, Fort Wayne.

                Surviving are two cousins, Murtha SUTHERLIN, Warsaw, and Gail 
HILL, Elkhart; a brother and sister-in-law, Verl and Mary Irene RAGER, Akron, 
and nieces and nephews.

                Private services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Strong Funeral 
Home, Silver Lake, with the Rev. Wayne JOHNSON officiting.  Burial will be in 
Lakeview Cemetery, Silver Lake.  There will be no visitation.  Memorials may 
be made to the Manitou Training Center’s men’s residence.
