Monday, January 5, 1931
Billy Richard [RANS], 14 months old son of Mr. and Mrs. Roy RANS, north of 
Kewanna, died at noon Monday at the Cass county hospital in Logansport, the 
result of swallowing a grain of corn which lodged in the tube leading to the 
lungs.  The child     accidentally swallowed the corn last Tuesday and since 
that time has been in a very serious  condition and all efforts to save his 
life proved fruitless.

Survivors are the parents, four sisters and five brothers.  Funeral 
arrangements have not been made.
