Woodrow Ritchie Jr.

                Woodrow “Woodie” RITCHIE Jr., 46, Rt. 2, Akron, was taken to 
Woodlawn Hospital early Saturday with a gunshop wound to his head, county 
Emergency Services Director Lynn OSBORN said this morning.  He died at 2:03 
p.m. Monday at Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne.

                Osborn said Ritchie was admitted to Woodlawn at 2:23 a.m., 
then taken by helicopter to the Fort Wayne hospital at 4:05 a.m.

                Local police and the Allen County Coroner’s office in Fort 
Wayne said they have no information concerning the situation.

                Woodrow “Woodie” RITCHIE Jr., 46, Rt. 2, Akron, died at 2:03 
p.m. Monday at Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne.

                He was born Nov. 30, 1945 in Blue Diamond, Ky., to Woodrow and 
Ruth RITCHIE RITCHIE Sr.  He lived most of his life in Akron with the 
exception of seven years in Haines City, Fa.  On July 7, 1974 he married 
Sharon FLOOR, who survives.

                Also surviving are his mother, Ruth RITCHIE RILEY, Rensselaer; 
four sisters, Mrs. Perry (Gretta) CORBIN and Shirley RITCHIE, both of 
Frankfort, Ky.; Mrs. William (Alice Faye) ALLEN, Rensselaer, and Mrs. Nick 
(Margaret) HARBER, Anaheim, Calif., and two brothers, Jay [RITCHIE], Texas, 
and Eugene [RITCHIE], Michigan City.  Preceding in death were his father and 
three brothers, Virgil, Amos and Amond [RITCHIE].

                Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Foster & Good Funeral 
Home, Akron, with Pastor Randy SAMUELS officiating.  Burial will be in the 
Silver Creek Cemetery.  Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. 
Wednesday.
