Saturday, April 3, 1880

A son of Mrs. TOWNSEND died in this city and was taken to Fulton for 
interment, yesterday. It was a sad sight to see the hearse containing the 
corpse in a snow white casket, and the funeral procession wending its way 
through the mud and heavy rain storm, to the city of the dead, nine miles away
