Rochester Sentinel, Sept. 14,1878: An accident occurred on the farm of Albert 
Heighweigher, in Newcastle Township, yesterday morning. Lewis Strong was there 
with his steam thresher, ... fired up his engine and started the machinery ... 
the boiler exploded and inflicted serious, though perhaps not fatal injuries 
upon Strong...
Rochester Sentinel, Sept. 14,1878: The boiler of a steam threshing machine 
owned by Lewis Strong... exploded yesterday morning, severely scalding Mr. 
Strong... will probably die...
Rochester Sentinel, Sept. 28, 1878: Lewis Strong, of Big Foot, died last 
Thursday week, from a scald he got by the explosion of a threshing engine.
