Row 3 Additional Comments: Thursday, October 17, 1957 Ivan Boylan Ivan BOYLAN, 56, prominent Akron insurance agent, died at 1:05 a.m. today here in Woodlawn hospital, where he had been confined the past nine days. He had been in ill health two months, his condition being serious the past two weeks. Manager of the Schultz Brothers Co. variety store here for 11 years, Boylan moved to Akron nine years ago to open his insurance agency. He was active in the Rochester country club, having served as its secretary-treasurer the past three years. He was born Nov. 16, 1900, in Calamus, Ia., the son of Dennis and Laura SHAW BOYLAN, and came to Rochester from Calamus. He was married Sept. 2, 1934, at Nassau, Ia., to Mildred DISSELBRET, who survives. Mr. Boylan was a member of the Akron Methodist church, the Akron Chamber of Commerce, Akron Masonic lodge, Order of Eastern Star, Royal Arch lodge of Rochester and the Akron Lions club. Surviving are the wife; two sisters, Mrs. Mary ANDERSON, Calamus, Ia., and Mrs. Millicent HOFFMAN, West Branch, Ia.; and two brothers, Clifford [BOYLAN], Charles City, Ia., and Glen [BOYLAN], Haddon Heights, N.J. A half-brother preceded him in death. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Sheetz funeral home in Akron with the Rev. Claude FAWNS and the Rev. Maurice KESSLER officiating. Burial will be in the Akron cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. today.
