Row 4 Additional Comments: Thursday, September 27, 1962 Merle Cook Merl "Bookie" COOK, 69, Akron, died Wednesday at 6 p.m. in Woodlawn hospital, following a heart attack suffered last week. He had been ill for five years. Mr. Cook was born Feb. 16, 1893 to George and Mary Jane THOMPSON COOK in Kosciusko county. He was a lifetime resident of the Akron community. He was married Feb. 27, 1933, to Bertha SHIMER, who survives. Mr. Cook was a retired farmer. He was a member of the Akron Masonic Lodge 659 and the Athens E.U.B. church. Surviving with the wife are a sister, Mrs. Orien (Grace) CRAIG, Akron, and several nieces and nephews. A brother preceded in death. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Sheetz fneral home in Akron. The Revs. Wayne JOHNSON and Harold CONRAD will officiate. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. today.
