Row 4 Additional Comments: Tuesday, March 19, 1985 Bertha I. Cook Bertha I. COOK, 87, of 306 Center St., Akron, died at 11:30 a.m. Monday at Miller’s Merry Manor Nursing Home, Warsaw. Born Jan. 17, 1898 in Antwerp, Ohio, to Grant and Ella JENKINS SHIMER, she lived most of her life in the Akron community. She was married Feb. 27, 1933 in Bryan, Ohio to Merl “Bookie” COOK, who died Sept. 26, 1962. She was a member of the Akron Church of God, Akron Eastern Star, and had been treasurer for several years of the former Famous Akron Jonah Club. Surviving are two nieces, Mrs. James (Florella) MOUDY, Rt. 2, Akron, and Mrs. Ralph (Beatrice) SHOEMAKER, Argos. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Foster & Good Funeal Home in Akron with the Revs. James MALBONE and Terry CANFIELD officiating. Burial will be in the Akron Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today, and on Wednesday from 9 a.m. until time of services. Memorials may be made to he Akron Church of God Building Fund.
