Irvin M. McHatton
Irvin M. McHATTON, 69, well-known Akron resident, died at his home in Akron at 
6:15 o'clock this morning. Mr. McHatton had been in failing health since 
September of 1959.
Mr. Mchatton had operated a furniture store in Akron for several years prior 
to his retirement one year ago. He also served as Justice of the Peace of 
Henry township for 12 years, and was a former member of the Akron town board.
He was born Nov. 27, 1891, in Amboy, Ind., to William J. and Anna HUFF 
McHATTON. He was married Feb. 15, 1913, in Warsaw, to Eva S. SWICK, who 
survives.
Mr. McHatton was a member of the Akron Church of God and the Akron Lions club.
Surviving along with the widow are two daughters, Mrs. Lester (Thelma) PORTER, 
Danville, Ind., and Mrs. Robert (Elizabeth) SAUSAMAN, Akron; three sons, 
Gerald E. [McHATTON], Warsaw; Rex. L. [McHATTON], Cincinnati, O.; and William 
A. [McHATTON], South Bend; one brother, Austin [McHATTON], Hampton, Va.; and 
thirteen grandchildren. One brother, Russell [McHATTON], preceded in death.
Services will be conducted Friday at 2 p.m. at the Akron Church of God with 
the Revs. D. L. SLAYBAUGH and Harold CONRAD officiating. Burial will be in the 
Akron cemetery.
Friends may call at the Sheetz funeral home in Akron after 2 p.m. Thursday 
until noon Friday.
