There were 2 Civil War battles in Northern Tennessee around the time of his death. The stone of Nancy M. Kendle is broken and some missing. The date of death is in July in the 1840's The age of Amanda Lagrang was on the stone, but is broken off and missing. The stone of James M. Tichenor is rough and dates could not be determined. The stone of John and Margaret Witherspoon is in pieces, with some missing, and very bad condition. This is a Revolutionary war soldier. All names are copied AS THEY ARE SPELLED ON THE STONE. David L. AYRES is buried beside Margaret AYERS, and believed to be her son. Jacob A. KINDELE is buried in the same area as others named KENDLE and believed to be the same family. LAGRANG and LEGRANGE is believed to be the same. note that the four children have two different spellings, but all are children of R. & H. TITCHENOR is believed to be TICHENOR. The stones of HOLLEN, HANNAH, and MCMULLEN are broken and rough with only parts barely readable, resulting in incomplete data on the printout. Parts of other stones have been found that do not have enough ledgible information to determine names or dates. One stone was included in the list as UNKNOWN. The stone reads "Died Oct. 19" with the year broken off, and "Aged 7mo, 14 days" The top part of the stone with the name is missing.
