FORT BRANCH.

A town in Gibson county, on the Evansville & Crawfordsville railroad, twenty
miles north of Evansville. It contains a population of about 500; has three
churches, excellent graded schools, Lodges of Masons, Odd Fellows and Good
Templars, with the usual complement of trades and professions. The surrounding
country is well timbered and watered, and is well adapted for the raising of
wheat, corn and fruit. The town is rapidly increasing.
