Princeton Clarion, Princeton,Indiana October 1,1853 JACOB SKELTON died of old age, at the residence of his son- in-law,Elisha Strickland in Gibson County,Indiana, on the 23rd inst., Jacob Skelton,Sr.,aged 85 years. He emigrated to this (Gibson) county, A.D. 1807 while this country was still a wild- erness. He march in the Tippecanoe Campaign and but for sickness which detained him at Fort Harrison would have been in that battle. The deceased was a consistant member of the Regular Baptist Church for more than 40 years. Mr. Skelton has left behind him a numerous progeny. He raised eleven children all of who are married and became parents of children. He has 106 grand children and 110 great-grand children most of who survive and live in this county. Robert V.
