ROBERT WHEELER, GIBSON COUNTY, INDIANA Father: James Wheeler Mother: Elizabeth Welch Robert Wheeler served in the Indian Wars of 1812 and enrolled 18 September 1811, with his father, James and 2 brothers, Payton and Samuel Wheeler. He served under Col. Decker as Pvt. with Captain Willis Hargrove Co. Indiana Volunteers. They were in the "Battle of Tippicanoe" against Shawnee Indians at the fork of Wabash and Tippicanoe Rivers called Prophetstown named after Chief Tecumseh's brother called "Prophet" spiritual leader of the tribe. WILL OF ROBERT WHEELER Dated March 16, 1954 "This my last will and testament I do will and bequeath to my five children now living with me, to wit, Sarah Ellen Wheeler, Gabarrella Wheeler, Scynthia Ann Wheeler, Monterville Wheeler, and Thomas B. Wheeler all of my personal property, after paying my daughters Eliza Jane Utly and Mary Blackard one dollar each, also my sons Jackson & Harrison Wheeler each one dollar. March 16th 1854.
