MARION.

The county seat of Grant County, on the Columbus, Chicago & Indiana Central
railroad. It contains about 2,000 inhabitants, with the necessary number of
stores and shops. Until the completion of the railroad, it suffered for want of
an outlet for its productions, but is now in a fair way to become an important
and prosperous city.
