NEWBERRY.

Is situated in Green county, nine miles from Greenfield. It is in the midst of
rich farming lands which yield a good return to the husbandman, but it is in
need of a railroad to give it access to the different markets. There are also
rich mines of iron and coal which, if properly worked, would add much to the
business of the place. 
It now has a population of about 275.
