Harrison County Deed Deed Book D, page 600: HENSON DEED TO HUFFSTUTTER This indenture made between WILLIAM HENSON and ELIZABETH, his wife both of Harrison County, Indiana of the one part and LEWIS HOFFSTUTTER of Nicholas County, Kentucky of the other part, witnesseth that the said William Henson and Elizabeth his wife, for the consideration of the sum of two hundred dollars to paid in hand, hath bargained, sold and delivered and by these presents doth bargain and sell unto the said Lewis Hoffstutter, his heirs and administrators, executors and assigns, all their right, interest, claim or demand unto the west half of the south west quarter of section two in Township two south of range thru east containing eighty acres being granted by John Q. Adams, President of the United States of America bearing date the 25th of March One thousand eight hundred and twenty-five to said William Henson, his heirs etc. and inc. the said William Henson and Elizabeth Henson doth warrant and defend the same parcel or tract of land unto the sd. Lewis Hoffstutter. his heirs, executors, administrators and assigns forever.  To have and to hold, alein and confirm the same, and from us William and Elizabeth Henson for ourselves, our heirs, executors, administrators and assigns from having any claims or demand against the sd. half quarter of land or any person or persons having any claim or demand against the same only such as the law directs.  Given under our hands and seals this fifteenth day of September one thousand eight hundred and twenty six, signed, sealed and delivered in the presents us, Jas. Hislop, Sen                                   William (his X mark) Henson George Huffstutter, Jun                        Elizabeth Betay (her X mark) Henson George Hufstutter State of Indiana, Harrison County - Be it remembered that on the 21st day of September in the year of our Lord 1826, William Henson & Elizabeth his wife, the grantors named in the within deed of conveyance, personally appeared before me, one of the Justices for the county aforesaid and severally acknowledged the signing and sealing of the same as their act and deed for the purposes therein expressed and the said Elizabeth having been made known to the contents and apart from her said husband, declared that she voluntarily and of her own free will and accord without fear of coercion of her husband did and now doth acknowledge the signing and sealing thereof.
