State of Indiana Harrison county On this 16th day of August AD 1837 personally appeared in open court, it being the probate court of Harrison county Indiana, Letice Mannin a resident of Harrison county Indiana aged eighty one years who being first duly sworn according to law, doth on her oath make the following declaration in order to obtain the benefit of the provisions made by the act of congress passed July 4th 1836. That she is the widow of John Mannin who was a private soldier in the army of the American Revolution. She declares that she is the widow of the same John Mannan who in his lifetime and at the time of his death, was a resident of Harrison county Indiana and who while a resident of said county obtained a pension for his services rendered in the Revolutionary war, under the act of congress passed the 7th day of June 1832, entitled "An act supplementary to the act for the relief of certain surviving officers and soldiers of the Revolution". She makes this statement to show her relation to the said John Mannan whom she has thus described, and omits stating his services in the Revolution, believing that they have already been sufficiently proved to the department in the application of the said John Mannan himself. She thinks his pension was granted to him sometime in the year 1833. She further declares that she was married to the said John Mannan in the month of April 1776, but the day of the month she cannot recollect, not having any record of her marriage; that her husband the aforesaid John Mannan died on the sixth day of November AD 1833, and that she has remained a widow ever since that period, as will more fully appear by reference to the proofs hereto annexed. Litice Mannan (her mark) Harrison County Indiana Set Mrs Mary Chandler of said county aged about 59 years states that she is one of the children of John Mannan and Letitia Mannan his wife both now deceased.
