McCLAIN, pvt, 3-29-1813 to 9-28-1813. Prisoner.

(This is JAMES McCLAIN JR., son of JAMES W. McCLAIN SR. who served from
Amherst County, Virginia in the Revolutionary War, and who was killed in
May, 1813 at Dudley's Defeat - Ft. Meigs, Ohio - in the same battle as
his son JAMES JR. was captured by Indians and taken prisoner. Both served
in the War of 1812 from Madison County, Kentucky. JAMES JR. moved to Hendricks
County, Indiana c1836 and it was from there and in Lexington, Fayette County,
Kentucky that he later filed his military pension claims.)
