McCLAIN SR. who served from Amherst County, Virginia in the Revolutionary War, and who was killed in May, 1813 at Dudley's Defeat - Ft. Meigs, Ohio - in the same battle as his son JAMES JR. was captured by Indians and taken prisoner. Both served in the War of 1812 from Madison County, Kentucky.
