Hendricks County, Indiana Complete Probate 1826-1845 Vol. 1, pp. 26-34 Peter Demoss Estate Letters of Administration Bond of Administration Be it remembered that on this 9th day of December 1830, Letters of Administration were granted to David Demoss and James Demoss on the estate of Peter Demoss late of Hendricks County deceased; who thereupon filed their bond in Clerks office in the sum of one thousand dollars, with John W. Bryant for Security. Which said  bond is in the words and figures following to wit: Know all men by these presents that we David Demoss, James Demoss and John W. Bryant are held and firmly bound unto the State of Indiana in the sum of one thousand dollars the payment of which well and truly be made as witness our hands and seals this 9th day of Dec. 1830. February Term A.D. 1833 The condition of the above obligation is such that whereas the above bonded David Demoss and James Demoss are this day sworn as Administrators of Peter Demoss late of Hendricks County Indiana deceased. Now should the said David and the said James well and truly perform the duties of Administrators of said estate; and well and truly pay over and account for all moneys which may come into their hands as such Administrators, and do such and other things as the Statute in such case made and provided required; then and in that case the above obligation to be null and void otherwise to remain in full force and virtue in law and equity. And afterwards, to wit a Term of our said Court begun and held at the Court house in the town of Danville on Thursday, the eighth day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty two, the following proceedings were had in the above entitled estate, before the Honourable Samuel Jessup Sole Judge of Said Court, to wit, Comes Vouchers now the Administrators of said estate and file vouchers amounting to ninety eight dollars 12 1/2 cts, And therefore it is considered by the Court the said Administrators be allowed their claim as filed against Said estate, according to law in such case made and provided. And afterwards, to wit, at a Term of our said Court and begun and held at the Court house in Danville on Monday the fourteenth day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty two, the following proceedings were had in the above entitled estate, before the Honourable The Judge last aforesaid to Vouchers &c. wit, Comes now James & David Demoss, Admrs of Peter Demoss deceased, and filed vouchers amounting to Seven dollars, twelve and a half cents, which were allowed: they are also allowed a credit of Twenty three dollars for an error made in filing vouchers at March Term 1832; making in the whole Thirty dollars twelve and a half cents. And the Said Admrs. also file a note on Wm. Wilcox for collection, amount $11.00. And afterwards, to wit a Term of our said Court begun and held at the Court house in the town of Danville on Monday the Eleventh day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty three, the following proceedings were had before the Honourable the Judge last aforesaid the 14 Distribution above entitled estate to wit: Comes now David Demoss, Bonds Filed one of the Administrators of said estate, and files bonds of distribution from the legatees of said estate wherein it appears that they have each received their proportional part of the estate and from which Bonds it appears that the amount paid over by the Administrators to the legatees is one thousand & sixty four dollars. "Know all men by these presents that John Mellinger & Margaret his wife of Shelby County State of Ohio, and David Demoss of Hendricks County State of In. are held and firmly bound unto the State aforesaid in the sum of one hundred and fifty dollars and for the true payment of which well and truly to be made, we bind our selves, our heirs, &c as witness our hands and seals this 15th day of May 1832. The conditions of the above obligation are such that whereas the above bound John Mellinger and Margaret his wife, that this day received of the Administrators of Peter Demoss, late of Hendricks County Decd., the sum of seventy six dollars it being an heirs part; Now should the above named Mellinger and his wife refund back a ratable proportion of the estate so distributed to any unknown heir, legatee, or creditor, should there be a call so to do, then and in that case the above obligation to be void and of none effect, otherwise to remain in full force and virtue in law and equity. The condition of the above obligation is such that whereas the above bound John Demoss for the use of Thomas and Matthew Youngblood, heirs of Peter Demoss late of Hendricks County decd. hath this day received of the Administrators of said estate the sum of seventy six dollars, it being an heirs part; Now should the above named Thomas and Matthew Youngblood refund back a ratable proportion of the estate so distributed to any now unknown heir, legatee or creditor who may hereafter appear, should there be a call so to do, then and in that case the above obligation to be void and of none effect, otherwise to remain in full force and virtue in law and equity. The condition of the above obligation is such that whereas the above bound David Demoss, one of the heirs of Peter Demoss, late of Hendricks County decd., hath this day received of the Administrators of said estate the sum of Seventy six dollars, it being an heirs part, now should the named Demoss refund back a ratable proportion of the estate so distributed to any now unknown heir, legatee, or creditor, who may hereafter appear, should there be a call so to do, then and in that case the above obligation to be void and of none effect otherwise to remain in full force and virtue in law and equity. "Know all men by these presents that we Charles Demoss of the State of Ohio and Preble County, and James Demoss of the State of Indiana and Morgan County, are held and firmly bound unto the State aforesaid in the penal sum of one hundred and fifty dollars and for the true payment of which well and truly to be made we bind ourselves, our heirs &c as witness our hands and seals this 15th day of May 1832.
