His admission papers to the institution show the date of his entrance as 1920. Mr. Howell suffered a stroke on the afternoon of July 4 after partaking of the evening meal and the holiday treat of ice cream and cake. Since that time his condition had gradually grown worse. The elderly man enjoyed walks when the weather permitted, choosing the shade of nearby Forest Park, where he was known to the many residents. He had only one arm and was almost blind. He was always courteous in manner and throughout the years he had been an outstanding resident of the infirmary. Mr. Howell is survived by a brother, Tence, of Lafontaine. Funeral services will be held at the Rich chapel Saturday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock, with burial in the Puckett cemetery.
