Roy, the five year old son of Mr. and Mrs. William Widener, Philips and 
Lordeman streets, who died Monday noon at the parental home after an illness 
of thirty hours with diphtheria, was buried in the Puckett cemetery Tuesday 
fore noon.  Because of the malady that caused his death a public funeral could 
not be held, but a brief and pathetic service was conducted near the door of 
his. home and at .the grave by the Rev. Oliver Wright. These services were 
held in accordance with the desire of the grief stricken parents, friends and 
neighbors.
