Snow, late a Pvt of Company, I, 142 Regiment of Ind. Volunteers in the war of 1861, personally came before me, the undersigned authority, Alfred B. Foreman whose age is 63 years, and whose post office address is Greentown, County of Howard, State of Indiana, and being duly sworn says: I formerly resided in Henry County where I was well acquainted with John M. Snow and with Sarah Bundy Afterwards Sarah Snow, now the claimant and the widow of said J. M. Snow, and have known them intimately ever since, and having lived in same vicinity prior to their marriage, l know that neither were ever married prior to their marriage one to the other - and that she continues his widow. Further, that I have no interest in this claim nor concerned in its prosecution. Signed: Alfred B. Templeton whose age is 60 years, and whose post office address is Kokomo, County of Indiana (?), State of Kokomo (?), and being duly sworn says: Prior to 1863 I resided in Henry County, Indiana and was well acquainted with John M. Snow and Sarah Bundy long prior to their marriage, and from a time when they were each to young to marry, and know they did marry each other, and know that neither were ever married prior to their marriage one to the other. I know she continues his widow not having remarried. Further, that I have no interest in this claim nor concerned in its prosecution. Signed: C. R. Henry Keck whose age is 41 years, and whose post office address is Kokomo, County of Howard, State of Indiana, and being duly sworn says: I have resided in Kokomo and its vicinity for thirty years well knew said soldier John M. Snow and his wife now his widow all this time having resided in same vicinity and for these reasons know that claimant continues to occupy the same home where she lived with her husband, said soldier and that she has not remarried but continues his widow. The above statement was written by J. H. Kroh in my presence at Kokomo, Ind. this 31 day of August 1893 from my personal statements to him made that in making such statements I gave what I personally know of claimant, and was not aided by anyone or by any memorandum of any kind. Snow and know that her physical condition is such that she is not able to work. Financially she has nothing with which to subsist upon and anything that can be done to hurry her pension up will be a great relief to the old lady. As she is certainly worthy and in need of relief. Heflin whose age is 29 years, and whose post office address is Kokomo, County of Howard, State of Indiana, and being duly sworn says: I reside in same vicinity where said Sarah Snow resides. She is my neighbor and have resided there for the last six years, and know that she has not remarried since the death of her husband John M. Snow but continues his widow. The above statement was written by J. H. Kohr at his office in my presence and what he wrote as above is as I did state to him from my personal knowledge I further state that I have no interest in this claim nor concerned in its prosecution.
