HUNTINGTON.

The county seat of Huntington county, on the Toledo, Wabash & Western railroad,
and on the Wabash & Erie canal. It is one hundred and eighteen miles from
Toledo, and eighty-five from Lafayette. It is situated in the midst of a very
fertile agricultural region, settled by wealthy and enterprising fanners, and
contains a number of extensive manufacturing establishments, and many of lesser
importance. Its citizens are energetic and intelligent, supporting two weekly
newspapers, excellent public schools, several churches, etc. 
Its population is nearly 4000.
